How To And Where To Sell Your Photos

The Beginnings

I started to upload my best stock photographs in the summer of 2015 after my Shutterstock account was finally approved. So in this tutorial I will try to show you how to sell photos on the internet. If you have a larger collection of photos on your hard drive, try to submit them to stock photography websites in order to earn money. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t have a professional camera or expensive lenses, you don’t really need those, you can easily make stock photos with a little bit of imagination and an entry level DSL-R camera or with a smartphone which has a decent camera. As I discover new places where I will sell my stock photos I will update this post.

What is stock photography?

Basically, stock photos can be found almost everywhere, on various websites, books or magazines. They are licensed for specific uses. If somebody needs a certain type of photo for a project and they have a tight budget, they will always search on the major stock photography websites for their desired photos because they are much cheaper then hiring a professional photographer. This process can also save the buyer a lot of time and nerves.

Right now I will share only one place where I submit my photos, this list will grow in the upcoming days/weeks.

Shutterstock

Shutterstock is one of the largest subscription-based stock photo agency on the internet. Last year when I registered on Shutterstock, I had to upload 10 photos for review. After they accepted at least 7 photos out of 10, my account was approved and I had the “privilege” to upload more photos. Don’t forget to read the submission guidelines before you start to upload your photos there because every photo that is uploaded and sent to review has to respect some technical requirements. The minimum size requirement is 4 MP so if you have a smartphone with a decent camera, you can also submit those photos as well. In my gallery you will find some photos taken with my LG G4. In conclusion don’t forget to register on Shutterstock today and earn some money from your stock photos.
